Pray Up is built on a simple belief: what you share in prayer is sacred. This policy explains plainly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do.
When you message Pray Up, we receive your phone number and the content of your messages. We store your name, faith tradition, and conversation history so the service can remember you across conversations and provide a more personal experience.
We do not collect your email address, location, device information, or any other personal data beyond what you share directly in your messages.
Our website (prayup.io) may use standard analytics and advertising tools, such as the Meta Pixel, to measure visits and show Pray Up ads to people who have visited the site. These tools see website activity only. They never see your messages or prayer requests, which stay private as described here.
Your information is used for one purpose only: to generate personalized prayers and remember your context across conversations. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose beyond the delivery of the service.
Your conversation history is stored securely and is accessible only to the systems that power the Pray Up service. No human reads your conversations unless required by law.
We will never sell your data. We will never share your conversations with third parties for commercial purposes. We will never use your prayer requests to target you with advertising. We will never share your phone number with anyone.
Pray Up relies on a small number of trusted third-party infrastructure providers to deliver the service — including message delivery, AI processing, and secure data storage. Each provider is bound by their own privacy and security standards. Your data is shared with these providers only to the extent necessary to operate the service and never for any other purpose.
WhatsApp and SMS messages are subject to the privacy policies of Meta and your mobile carrier respectively.
We retain your conversation history to provide continuity of the service. If you would like your data deleted, text DELETE MY DATA to your Pray Up number at any time. We'll confirm before anything happens — reply DELETE MY DATA CONFIRM to complete the deletion. Your data is removed immediately upon confirmation.
If you're opted in to receive a daily prayer, you can pause it anytime by texting STOP DAILY — this only affects the daily send, not your ability to text Pray Up for a prayer whenever you'd like. Reply DAILY PRAYERS to turn daily prayers back on.
Pray Up is not directed at children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has used the service, please contact us and we will delete the associated data promptly.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. We will never weaken the privacy protections described here without notice.

By using Pray Up — whether via WhatsApp, SMS, or any other channel — you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not buried.
Pray Up is a personal prayer companion delivered via WhatsApp and SMS. It uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized prayers based on what you share. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, spiritual direction, or professional mental health support.
Pray Up is provided free of charge. Optional tips are accepted to fund prayers for others but are never required.
You may use Pray Up for personal, non-commercial prayer requests. You agree to use the service respectfully and not to abuse, spam, or attempt to manipulate the system. Each user is permitted one account tied to their phone number.
To stop receiving messages at any time, reply STOP. To resume, reply START. To request help, reply HELP.
Pray Up is free to use. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply depending on your plan. WhatsApp messages require an internet connection and are subject to Meta's terms of service.
Pray Up is not an emergency service. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact emergency services or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. Do not rely on Pray Up in an emergency.
Pray Up is designed to offer spiritual comfort and will always direct users to professional resources when crisis signals are detected. However, this is not a guarantee and should not be relied upon as a safety net.
Pray Up generates prayers using artificial intelligence. The prayers are intended to be personal, meaningful, and spiritually resonant — but they do not carry the authority of any religious institution, denomination, or clergy. Pray Up is a tool for personal prayer, not a religious authority.
The prayers generated by Pray Up are yours. You are free to save, share, and use them however you wish. The Pray Up name, logo, and website design are owned by Pray Up and may not be reproduced without permission.
Pray Up is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about the availability, accuracy, or spiritual efficacy of the service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pray Up is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
